In Memory of Andris “Andy” Vanags

August 24, 1942 - October 13, 2019
Andris "Andy" Vanags was a Senior Lecturer Emeritus at the Department of Architecture at the University of Washington, where he worked from 1969 until his retirement in 2009. He was teacher and mentor to generations of UW architecture students, and one of the driving forces behind the school's culture of Craft and Making.

Andy is survived by his son Peter, and grandchildren Nicolas, Alexander, and Madden.
